Installing your new refrigerator into your home
Important!
Correct installation of this refrigerator in your home is crucial to its performance.
Your DCS by Fisher & Paykel ActiveSmart™ refrigerator is fitted with front and rear rollers, designed
for moving the product in the forwards and backwards direction.
Avoid
moving the product in a sideways direction as this may damage the rollers or the floor
covering/surface.
Ensure
all packaging has been removed from the front, back and sides of the product.

Your refrigerator will arrive with the front feet wound up
making moving the product into
its final location a simple task.

Roll the refrigerator into its final position
making sure there is the correct air gap between the
product and surrounding cabinetry.

Adjust the front feet
using a hex headed screwdriver, or socket set, turn the front adjustment
screws, (

) clockwise to raise the product and counterclockwise to lower the front of the refrigerator.

Ensure product is sitting backward
with the front approximately /” (10 mm) higher than the
back. This will ensure a good door-closing action.

Aligning your refrigerator with cabinetry:
■
Adjust the right hand side adjustment screw first, then the left hand adjustment screw to align
refrigerator with cabinetry.
■
Once the refrigerator is in place and aligned with cupboards/alcove push gently on the front top
and check if the product is rocking or stable.
If the product is rocking the floor may be uneven or the cabinetry may not be square.
(See “What to do if your new refrigerator is unstable when installed”).

If the product is stable and no door leveling is required, place toe grille onto the bottom of the
product (refer to figure 4):
■
Align the toe grille mounting clips with the lower cabinet slots.
■
Push the toe grille firmly until it clicks into place.

What to do if your new refrigerator is unstable when installed
A
Gently pull the refrigerator forward
and screw down the feet until they make contact with
the floor.
■
Gently push the refrigerator back until the rear rollers contact floor.
■
Measure the gap under the front foot, which has come off the floor.
■
Obtain some solid packing material (hardwood, plastic, etc) which fits firmly into the gap under the foot.
Note:
Do not use metallic materials that may corrode, stain or damage floor coverings.

Wind both front feet up
and roll the product out of position.
■
Place the packing material in the location diagonally opposite the front roller that lifts off the floor.
■
Make sure the packing material stays in place when the product is pushed back into position.
■
Ideally, the packing material is large enough to rest against the back wall so as to prevent it
moving when the cabinet is pushed into position.

Roll the refrigerator back into position
and adjust front rollers as per step 5. (Check alignment
and door closing action are satisfactory).
■
Make small adjustments to front rollers where necessary.
■
Firmly screw front feet down to the ground
■
Check that the product is stable (all 4 feet are on the floor). If not return to step A and re-do steps
B and C.
■
Place toe grille on the bottom of the refrigerator (refer to figure 4).

Leveling of refrigerator doors
If the refrigerator doors are uneven, do the following:
■
On the side of the refrigerator that the door is lower turn the front roller adjustment screw
(
a
, figure 3), on lower side, clockwise to raise front corner of door.
■
If one adjustment screw has reached the limit of its adjustment range and the doors are still not
level, lower the opposite door by turning the roller adjustment screw counterclockwise.
■
Once refrigerator is aligned, screw feet firmly in place and attach toe grille (refer to step 4).

If you need assistance with the installation of your refrigerator please contact your DCS by
Fisher & Paykel Customer Care Centre. A DCS customer care representative will provide
expert guidance and if necessary can organise an Authorized Service Technician visit
ensuring the correct installation is achieved. (A service fee will be charged).
Incorrect installation may result in the product twisting which will give the appearance of
doors and handles being out of alignment.
Please ensure that your refrigerator has been correctly installed as per the above instructions,
as product issues brought about by poor installation are not covered under product warranty.
