Installation Manual
Kit Contents
The following hardware is included with
this rack adapter kit: One 7U Rack mount
chassis unit with cable and connectors
in place, one Speaker cable adapter and
four 4 x 2 mm screws.
The bolts and nuts for attaching the rack
adapter into an equipment rack are not
included in this kit.
Cables to go between the amplifier and
speaker are not included in this kit. To
complete the installation, one of the fol-
lowing cable kits is needed:
Order code Length
1039-203 2 meters
1039-204 5 meters
1039-205 10 meters
1039-206 15 meters
1039-207 20 meters
If you choose to build the cables yourself,
note that the maximum speaker cable
length is 20 meters and the conductor
wire used should be at least 2.5mm² (13
AWG)
Note that the cabling in this rack mount
kit does not support the Mode indicator
LED function on the Genelec S30D Digital
Monitoring System.
Assembly
Place the speaker face down on a flat sur-
face. Remove the amplifier from the rear
of the speaker cabinet by loosening the
six M4 screws at the edge of the longer
sides.Take special care not to stress the
speaker cable that connects the amplifier
and speaker cabinet. Disconnect the
speaker cable from the amplifier.
Connect the speaker cable to the
speaker cable adapter’s connector (see
fig. 1 overleaf). Attach the speaker cable
adapter to the speaker box with four 4 x 12
mm screws. If your speaker is Genelec type
S30C, you may notice that the speaker
cable wire colour pattern is not the same as
on the adapter’s connector. This is normal,
the wire sequence is correct despite the
difference in colour coding.
Place the amplifier and the rack adapter
side by side on a flat surface and connect
the rack adapter cable (see fig 2 overleaf)
to the amplifier board.
Place the amplifier on the rack adapter
chassis and fix it with six M4 screws.
Ensure that the rack adapter cable does
not tighten or press against any amplifier
components. The rack adapter can now
be mounted into a standard 19 inch rack.
Leave at least ten centimeters (4 inches)
free space above and below the amplifier
to ensure cooling.
Connect the amplifier to the speaker
with two Speakon 8- and 4-pole cables
(Genelec part no 1039-204 or 1039-205)
and place the speaker in its recess. Now
the system is ready for operation.
