202mkIII
TASCAM's 202mkIII is a cost-effective, rugged dual-well
cassette deck designed to offer reliability, simplicity and
audio quality. Both cassette wells are capable of
recording for making two masters at a time. Useful
playing features like Intro Check and Blank Scan help the
user find the music and keep it playing by avoiding dead
tape spots. Microphone inputs in the front of the
202mkIII offer convenient inputs for occasional live
recordings. The high speed dub feature gives quick one-
offs for rehearsal tapes or high quality reference dubs.

need regular use of a cassette deck and want more than consumer decks
will offer.
Home Studio Mixdown/Duplication Deck
For musicians trying to make the best recordings of their music, the
202mkIII offers outstanding sonic performance. The ability to create two
masters at once is also helpful. One copy could be sent to the copyright
office, and you've got another identical copy for yourself. Two identical
copies could also be generated for yourself and your co-writer. Or, you
could simply have more 1st generation copies for distribution. When
you've got multiple mixes on a single tape, the Intro Check feature will
help you find the particular tune you're looking for by searching through
the tape and playing the first 15 seconds of each tune automatically.
Other beneficial functions include double speed dubbing - make quick
reference copies for other musicians to get more familiar with the music
before the session. For higher quality dubs, single speed duplication is
also possible for demo tape production or back-up copies.
Even if you're rewiring or getting ready for a gig, the 202mkIII's Blank
Scan feature can search for the next tune if it detects 10 seconds of
silence, and also offers continuous play so the music doesn't stop. This
is also great for music in between sets at the gig.
Music Educators - School PA
Band, Choir, Theater and Dance programs often need to be able to make
copies of rehearsal tapes for their performers to practice with. The
202mkIII makes these quick and painless. The front panel mic input is
also useful for spontaneous or regular recordings of the group so they
can hear their progress.
