channel IP Encoder
Bid-Spec
1.0 Description
The VideoEdge™ IP 4 Channel Encoder is a high performance video encoder capable
of serving multiple video streams at 4CIF resolution and up to 30 images per second
per stream. The VideoEdge™ IP 4 Channel Encoder is the first video encoder using
American Dynamics Active Content Compression (ACC) that is compatible with the
Intellex IP Digital Video Management System. This combination offers powerful new
solutions to security applications using Intellex IP, Network Client, and the
VideoEdge™ IP 4 channel Encoder. This application note explains the tradeoffs
inherent in using IP video and provides guidance on optimal configuration of the
VideoEdge™ IP 4 channel Encoder with Intellex IP
2.0 Performance Specifications

1.7(43.1mm)H. Both standalone and rack mount options shall be available.
The encoder shall support Ethernet 10/100 Base-T via a RJ45 connection with
support for HTTP, TCP/IP and DHCP client protocols.
The encoder shall support 4 RJ45 serial port connections. Ports 1 through 4 shall
support RS-232 at 230 kbps maximum. The encoder shall also support RS-422 and
RS-485 2 and 4 wire at 230 kbps maximum via the terminal block. The terminal
block shall also support Sensornet 2 wire.
The encoder shall support live video via the Intellex IP or via the hosted web page of
the encoder device.
The encoder shall support configuration via the hosted web pages of the encoder
device.
The encoder shall support bandwidth throttling between 30 kbps and 4 Mbps that is
configured through the client interface.
The encoder shall support a maximum of 4 channels of analog video input in 4CIF at
30 IPS for NTSC and 4CIF at 25 IPS for PAL.
The encoder shall support 4 composite video inputs for either NTSC or PAL
standards. The connectors shall be BNC standard female connectors for the 4
composite inputs on the encoder.
The encoder shall support event input by 4 TTL Level (3.3Vmax) active low and
Event Outputs by 6 open-collectors that support 12 Volts maximum and 100 mA
maximum.
The encoder shall operate from 12VDC and Power over Ethernet. Power connection
shall support a 2.1mm and PoE on a RJ45 Ethernet connector.
The encoder shall be safety compliant with UL60950-1, CSA C22.2 No. 60950-1,
with TUV EN60950-1, and with CB IEC60950-1 for safety. EMC compliant with
USA FCC Part 15 class A, Canada ICES-003/NMB-003 class A, Europe EN55022
class A, EN50130-4 and Australia / New Zealand AS/NZS CISPR22. The encoder
shall also be RoHS compliant to comply with European directive 2002/95/EC.
