The way to replace the hard disk, which is mentioned in the page 22 - 23 of the VF-16
owner’s manual has been changed. Referring to the following description, replace the
hard disk correctly. Also refer to the <Warning> and <Precautions> mentioned in the
page 22 of the VF-16 owner’s manual.
VF-16 Owner’s Manual Supplement
Unscrew the four screws fixing the panel to the
bottom of the VF-16 main unit.
If the panel is removed, the hard disk covered
with a cushion can be seen.
Take out the hard disk to the direction "2" indi-
cated in the drawing below.
Slightly lifting up the cushion upward helps you
take out the hard disk easily.
When taking it out, do not apply excessive force.
Hold the connector section and gently pull out
the two cable connectors from the hard disk.
Prepare a new hard disk and Connect the two
cable connectors to it with holding the connec-
tor section.
Put back the new hard disk into the VF-16 main
unit.
In the reverse order of taking out the hard disk
as performed earlier, carefully house the hard
disk at the bottom of the main unit and cover it
with the cushion.
After checking that the cables, etc. are not stick-
ing out from the main unit, put the panel onto
the hard disk and the case.
Align the position of screw holes on the panel /
case with the VF-16 bottom panel screw holes
and fix the panel / case using the four screws to
the VF-16 main unit.
When the hard disk replacement is success-
fully completed, go to the page 24 and for-
mat the newly installed hard disk.
<Caution>
When replacing the hard disk, do not forget to turn off the power of the VF-16 and unplug the
power plug from the electric outlet. If the machine was used right before the hard disk re-
placement, the hard disk body remains hot. In order not to suffer burns, replace the hard disk
after it is cooled down.
