the ch a r ts in this instru c-
tion guide.

P ress and hold the V C R, T V ,
or A U X mode key wh i l e
e n t e ring a thre e - d i git code
nu m b e r. Then release the
mode key.
If the code was accep t e d , t h e
mode key will flash 5 times after it
is re l e a s e d. If you entered an
i n valid code, the mode key w i l l
not flash. Check the code nu m b e r
and rep e at Step 2.
The VCR and TV modes will accept
only their specific code type.
The AUX mode will accept all code
types, but only one code at a time.
Pe r fo rm Steps 1 and 2 for each
p i e c e of equipment you have. A f t e r
e n t e ring each code number ch e c k
the unit’s operation by pressing the
P o w e r and/or C h a n n e l keys. If
these keys operate your equipment,
you have pro b ably entered the cor-
rect code number for that dev i c e. If
n o t , fo l l o w Steps 1 and 2 and enter
another code, if ava i l abl e.
After you have programmed the
remote control and confirmed its
operation, enter your codes in the
spaces provided below.

Note: Do Not mix new and used batteries or mix
different types of batteries together.

QuickTips and Operating Tips
1) The CH A N N E L (/) and VO L U M E (-/+) key s
become CU R S O R keys when the ME N U key is
p re s s e d . This operating state re m a i n s
a c t ive for 10 seconds after pressing any
CH A N N E L or VO L U M E key. After 10 seconds,
these keys will reve rt to normal ch a n n e l
and volume operat i o n .
2 ) Some equipment manu fa c t u r e rs use the
CH A N N E L and VO L U M E keys instead of CU R S O R
keys to nav i g ate through their menu sys-
tems. If after pressing the M
E N U
key the
CH A N N E L and VO L U M E keys do not move the
c u r s o r, wait 10 seconds then try them aga i n .
If the menu leaves the scre e n , p ress the ME N U
key aga i n , then wait 10 seconds befo re
p r essing the C

3) Many of the keys on this remote control
are multi-functional. Please refer to the
chart for a generic description of the keys
and their functions. Refer to your original
o p e r ating manuals for specific fe at u r e
operation.
4) This remote control cannot add keys or
features to your equipment. Your equip-
ment’s manufacturer must have originally
provided them.

Try different codes (if available) until you
find the correct one.
6) Operations in the chart that are marked
with an asterisk (*) work when the menu
is displayed (after pressing the MENU key).
7) To operate each device (VCR, TV, Cable
Converter Box, or DVD Player), you must
first program the remote control; then
press the proper mode key (VCR, TV, or
AUX). The VCR and TV modes are pre-
programmed with Sanyo codes.
8) Code numbers will remain in memory for
five minutes as you replace batteries.
9 ) The AUX mode can be programmed to
o p e rate a V C R , T V, C able Conve rter Box , o r
DVD Playe r, but only one device at a time.

R e m o ve bat t e r ies from the remote control if
it will not be used for a month or more.
Weak bat t e r ies may leak and cause damage.
11) There may be brands and models that this
remote control cannot operate. Some units
may operate only partially.
1 2 ) This remote control uses an infra red beam
of light to operate the equipment. Objects
b e t w een the equipment and the remote con-
t r ol can bl o ck this infra red beam. Th e re fo re,
the remote control must be pointed dire c t l y
at the equipment you want to operat e.
