Replace the Hard Drives on a Rimage 5100 or Rimage 5300N
Use this procedure to replace the hard drives as a set on a Rimage 5100N™ and Rimage 5300N™.
The procedures in this document should be performed only by personnel trained and authorized by Rimage. The instructions and
content are written for mechanical and electrical service work assuming the technician has such training and authorization. The
product warranty may become void if equipment or parts are tampered with, misused, neglected, or modified in any respect without
the written consent of Rimage or by technicians who are not authorized or certified by Rimage.
- Important! The hard drives must be replaced as a set.
Before you begin
1. Stop or pause all jobs.
2. Power off the embedded control center.
3. Power off the system.
4. Disconnect the power cord from the power outlet.

• Phillips or flathead screwdriver (5100N only)
Remove the hard drives
1. At the left side of the 5100N, loosen the screws (Qty. 2) on the left side cover.
OR
At the rear of the 5300N, loosen the thumbscrew (Qty. 1) on the hard drive cover.
2. Remove the left side cover (5100N) or hard drive cover (5300N).

3. Remove the hard drives.
a. Insert your thumb and finger into the tabs on the hard drive.
b. Squeeze the tabs together.
c. While squeezing the tabs, pull the hard drive out of the system.
d. Repeat steps a – c for the second hard drive.
