4. Press the release lever down to lock the card cage in place in the chassis.
5. Reinstall the chassis cover. See “Removing and Replacing the Top Cover” (page 123).
6. Reinstall the server in the rack and power on the server. See “Inserting the Server Into a
Rack” (page 116).
7. Run the info io command at the EFI Shell to verify that you have correctly installed the
PCI-X cards.
Removing and Replacing PCI Cards
The server has four 64-bit, 133 MHz PCI-X accessory card sockets located in a removable card
cage. You must remove the PCI card cage before removing or installing PCI cards. The following
sections explain how to remove and install PCI cards.
Removing a PCI Card
CAUTION: Observe all ESD safety precautions while performing this procedure. Failure to
follow ESD safety precautions can result in damage to the server.
NOTE: You must remove the PCI card cage from the server chassis to access the PCI cards.
To remove a PCI card, follow these steps:
1. Remove the PCI card cage from the server chassis. See “Removing the PCI Card Cage
Assembly” (page 131).
2. Remove the cover from the PCI card cage.
