Before you begin
Observe the following precautions when replacing the Y-cable:
Ensure that the array is either operational and stable on the redundant
path for the device ports being serviced or the array has been shut
down.
Label the replacement cable before installing it. See Labeling the re-
placement Y-cable.
NOTE:
The Y-cable is replaced as part of the troubleshooting process
to address a communication failure.
Labeling the replacement Y-cable
Before you remove the cable, label the replacement cable with the port
numbers using the label kit that shipped with the cable. Four sheets of
labels (two red and two green) contain all the port numbers you need.
Label the new cable to match the port labels on the original cable.
The replacement cable should resemble Figure 1.
