READ–ME BEFORE PERFORMING THE
C100/110 to C160/180 UPGRADE
1. Page 1 of the the Upgrade Instructions makes reference to removing and replacing the power
supply, the power supply is not included in the upgrade kit and is not required to perform the
upgrade.
2. In some cases your upgraded system may fail to output video to a supported graphics adapter
(steps 10–11, pg. 29), note that it may take about two minutes for video to be turned on . If the
time exceeds two minutes the following corrective actions are required :
turn off power to the system
connect the monitor( using the EVC cable) to the built–in graphics connector
turn on the system (system should reboot using the built–in graphics) if this fails go
to 3 below
after booting you can refer to your C160/180 Owners Guide to perform the steps to
change the graphics path to the add–on graphics adapter
3. If the system fails to output video in step 2, the following actions are required:
shut power off of the system
connect an RS232 terminal to Serial port 1 (9600 bps, 8 bit, parity none)
disconnect the keyboard
turn on system
interrupt the boot process by pressing esc
at the bch prompt type co
then type mo
select the graphics path ( 0 for internal or the slot number that matches the physical
slot of the desired graphics adapter
to save the graphics adaptor selection, type ma
type co (the system should report graphics(#) #= the correct graphics adaptor)
select the console path, type co con graphics(#), then turn off the system
disconnect terminal
reconnect keyboard
connect monitor to the desired graphics connector, and turn power on the system
