Important safety information
Before troubleshooting the server, familiarize yourself with the safety information in the following
sections.
Warnings and cautions
WARNING! Only authorized technicians trained by HP should attempt to repair this equipment.
Troubleshooting and repair procedures are detailed to allow only subassembly/module-level repair.
Because of the complexity of the individual boards and subassemblies, do not attempt to make
repairs at the component level or to make modifications to any printed wiring board. Improper
repairs can create a safety hazard.
WARNING! To reduce the risk of electric shock or damage to the equipment:
Do not disable the power cord grounding cables. The grounding cables are an important
safety feature.
Ensure that all enclosures and modules in the rack are grounded to the rack, and that the rack
is connected to a common bonding network.
Do not route the power cord where it can be walked on or pinched by items placed against
it. Remain aware of the plug, electrical outlet, and the point where the power cord extends
from the server.
Bolt the rack to the floor using the concrete anchor kit or raised floor anchor kit.
WARNING! To reduce the risk of personal injury or damage to the equipment:
Observe local occupation health and safety requirements and guidelines for manual handling.
Obtain adequate assistance to lift and stabilize the chassis during installation or removal.
Keep in mind that the server is unstable when not fastened to the rails.
When mounting the server in a rack, remove the power supplies and other removable modules
to reduce the weight of the product.
CAUTION: To properly ventilate the system, you must provide at least 61 cm (24 in) of clearance
at the front and back of the server.
