INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING:
TO BE INSTALLED AND/OR USED IN ACCORDANCE WITH APPROPRIATE ELECTRICAL CODES AND REGULATIONS.
WARNING: IF YOU ARE NOT SURE ABOUT ANY PART OF THESE INSTRUCTIONS, CONSULT A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN.
WARNING: TO AVOID OVERHEATING AND POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO THIS DEVICE AND OTHER EQUIPMENT, DO NOT INSTALL
TO CONTROL A RECEPTACLE, FLUORESCENT LIGHTING, A MOTOR- OR A TRANSFORMER-OPERATED APPLIANCE.
OTHER CAUTIONS:
1. DISCONNECT POWER WHEN SERVICING FIXTURE.
2. USE THIS DEVICE ONLY WITH COPPER OR COPPER CLAD WIRE. WITH ALUMINUM WIRE USE ONLY DEVICES MARKED
CO/ALR OR CU/AL.
GANGING/DERATING:
This device has two dimmers in one body. The total rated load for a dimmer body must be derated when more than one dimmer body
is mounted in the same wall box. When two dimmer bodies are ganged together, the total rated load must not exceed 500W in any
combination (on this device, 300W maximum on either dimmer). When three dimmer bodies are ganged together, the total rated load
on this device must not exceed 400W in any combination (on this device, 300W maximum on either dimmer).
TO INSTALL:
1. WARNING: TO AVOID FIRE, SHOCK, OR DEATH; TURN OFF POWER AT CIRCUIT BREAKER OR FUSE AND TEST THAT
POWER IS OFF BEFORE WIRING!
2. Remove existing wall plate and switch, if applicable.
3. Remove 3/4" (1.9 cm) of insulation from each circuit conductor. Make sure the ends of wires are straight.
4. Connect wires per WIRING DIAGRAM as follows: Twist strands of each lead tightly together and, with circuit conductors, push
firmly into appropriate wire connector. Screw connectors on clockwise making sure no bare conductors show below the wire
connectors. Secure each connector with electrical tape.
5. Restore power and operate dimmers. If an adjustment is required, follow these steps, if not go to step 7.
6A. Position dimmer with “TOP” up. As you raise the slide, the light level increases from low to maximum brightness. With the slider in
the minimum position (bottom of stroke just before it clicks off), you may adjust the dimmer for the desired brightness.
6B. The trim adjusters are located at the top of the dimmer back cover. Using a small insulated screwdriver rotate the trim adjuster
until the desired low-level of brightness is obtained.
6C. Check for proper operation by raising the slider to it’s maximum position and returning to minimum (just before it clicks off). Bring
slider all the way down (OFF) and slowly move the slider upwards. Lights should come on at adjusted minimum brightness. If
operation is not satisfactory, repeat step 6B until desired results are achieved.
7. Installation may now be completed by carefully positioning all wires to provide room in outlet box for the dimmer. Mount the
dimmer into box with mounting screws supplied. Attach wall plate.
8. Restore power at circuit breaker or fuse. INSTALLATION IS COMPLETE.
