All HP LaserJet printers use the PCL standard to control the output to the
printed page. The comparative standard for the IBM Mainframe and AS/400-
TM
iSeries environment is called AFP/IPDS. By adding the Blue Kit IPDS solution,
IBM IPDS emulation is added to the HP LaserJet printers without having to
change the existing LAN interface.
TM
Simply plug in the Blue Kit IPDS, power up the printer and set-up the IBM
required parameters using the control panel of the HP LaserJet printer.
Your normal LAN printing will continue as before, but in addition you can
receive AFP/IPDS output over TCP/IP from IBM Mainframe systems, AS/400-
iSeries and AIX systems to be printed on your standard HP LaserJet printer.
TM
Blue Kit IPDS can also be used to add IPDS emulation to HP LaserJet printers
connected to IBM Coax (3270) and Twinax (5250) systems. Using the MPI Tech
TM
Coax or Twinax interfaces (HostCom) for physical connection, The Blue Kit
IPDS will add full IPDS compatibility and offer direct replacement of IBM
printers using the HP LaserJet printers.
TM
Being «HP Focus Solutions» certified by HP, MPI Tech Blue Kit IPDS is the
perfect solution for all IPDS printing needs on HP LaserJet printers.
