consistency. If you calibrate correctly, the colors printed on printers with
different printheads will look very s i

W hen do I ca lib r ate color?
It is reco

ended that you calib r a te color every ti

e you replace a
printhea d or when you perceive color degrad ation on the printouts. There is
no need to perf or

this operation e ach ti

e you print. The results of the
color calibration will be applied to all print jobs that follow, even if you
power off the printer.

color calibration if you print with the regular hp designjet 1 2 0
printer driver, which was included with the printer or which you downloaded
fro
m
the W eb. If you use a PostScript driver such as Adobe PS or

aser Writer
to print through a PostScript

IP provided by HP or another third- party

pany, the results of calibr a te color will not be applied to your print
jobs. In thi s case, refer to your PostScript

H o w do I ca lib r ate color?
You have to c alib r a te color for every Paper Type that requires color
consistency. For exa

ple, if you require consistent colors on glossy p aper
and on heavy weight coated p aper, you

ust perfor
m
one color calibration
for the for

er and another for the latter Paper Type.

option that you are going to use to print. F or exa

color calibration.
