Verizon Ellipsis MHS800L Mobile Device
Quick Start Guide
The Verizon MiFi 6620L device is activated and configured as a mobile hotspot and is ready for use. Follow the
quick steps listed below to connect and disconnect from the device. You may connect a maximum of 8 Wi-Fi
enabled devices; however, we recommend a maximum of 4. Battery power and performance speed degrade as
you add more devices. NEVER leave the device in an unattended vehicle due to uncontrollable temperatures
that may be outside the acceptable temperature for this device.
Important Note: The device should be used only for ACS Business purposes. (ACS devices are on a shared
data plan; therefore, the device will not display the available data.) Test the device as soon as you receive it to
ensure you are within the service area and the device is working properly.
Connecting to the Verizon Ellipsis MHS800L Wireless Hotspot
Step 1: To power on the device, press and hold the Power Button until the Jetpack display lights up.
After the initial startup screens display, the Home screen and menu options are available.
The device will work with battery or when plugged into power using the AC power adapter.
Step 2: Locate your Wi-Fi Name (SSID) and Wi-Fi Password on the Device.
Use the power button to scroll through the menu options on the display screen. Make note of the
Wi-Fi Name and Password.
Step 3: Connect your computer/iPad to the Verizon Wireless Hotspot.
On your computer/iPad, view the Available Wireless Networks and select the Network Name or
SSID you found in the previous step.
When prompted, enter your Wi-Fi Network password. The Jetpack Home screen should now show
an additional connected device. Once connected, you are ready for access to the Internet. Repeat
this step until you have connected the number of devices needed.
The Jetpack will go into sleep mode after several minutes of inactivity. The display will be off and
the blue Power indicator on the front panel of the Jetpack will blink. Press the on/off button to
reactivate it.
Disconnecting from Verizon Wireless Hotspot and Turning off Device
Step 1: Disconnect from Wireless Connection.
Disconnect from the device using the Access Connections screen. If you are connected to
ACSVPN, disconnect from VPN first then proceed with disconnecting device. The Jetpack Home
screen should reflect the new number of connected devices.
Important: Disconnect the computer from the device before turning off or when disconnecting cables
from the power source to avoid potential problems with computer screens freezing.
Step 2: To power off device, press and hold the Power Button until the display shows MiFi.
The Jetpack will continue its shutdown process for several seconds and then automatically turn off
the display.
When disconnecting cables or power source, hold both the device and the end of the cable then pull straight out
to avoid damaging the connectors.
Disconnect all cables from the device and store in the container provided. Do not pack or transport the device
attached to the laptop or when powered on.
