1. Inspection
The following items are inside the box:
User’s Manual
UPS
Power cord
Software CD
USB cable
Remove the PowerPro UPS from its packaging and
inspect it for any damages that may have occurred
during shipping. If any damage is discovered, re-pack
the unit and return it to the place of purchase.
2. Placement of UPS
Place the PowerPro UPS in a protected area that is free
of excessive dust and provide at least 7.8 inches (20 cm)
clearance on both sides for adequate airflow around the
unit.
Avoid direct sunlight.
Avoid excessive heat.
Avoid excessive humidity or liquids.
Avoid excessive dust.
3. Connect UPS to Utility
Use the power cord that came with your UPS to connect
the UPS directly to the wall outlet.
Do not power the UPS using a surge suppressor or
power strip.
Battery Charging:
The UPS battery charges whenever the UPS is
connected to utility power and typically requires less
than 5 hours to charge 90% capacity. Operating runtime
is reduced until the battery is fully charged.
4. Connecting Equipment to UPS
Connect the equipment to Battery Power Supplied
outlets.

Connect the computer, monitor, and external drive to the
"Battery Power Supplied" outlets. These outlets provide
battery backup, EMI filtering, line conditioning, and
surge protection. Battery power is automatically
provided in case of power failure.
5. Connect Phone/Modem/Fax/Internet Line
The PowerPro UPS 450/650/850 protects a single line
RJ-11 (1-in/1-out) phone, modem, fax, or internet line
from surges when connected through the UPS. Plug in
connecting internet line into the "IN" port.
Use one more internet line cable in the “OUT” port and
plug one other end to the modem input socket as shown
in the chart below.
6. Power On/Off and Silent Button
To turn the UPS unit on or off, press the button for 3
seconds. To turn the audible alarm on or off, press the
button for 1 second.
7. Cold Start Function
When the UPS is off and there is no power utility, it's still
possible to cold start the UPS unit to power the loads.
8. AC Auto Recovery
When the UPS is in battery mode and can no longer
continue to supply battery power to the loads, UPS will
shut down. Once AC power is restored, the UPS will
automatically turn on and supply power to loads and
charge battery.
The PowerPro Series uses UPSilon 2000 software to allow additional monitoring
and management of the UPS statuses through your computer. Before installing
the software, connect the USB that came with the UPS to your computer and
UPS. To install the software, insert the CD that came with your unit to the
computer and follow the program set-up instructions. If the program requires a
CD code or password, please refer to the set of letters and/or numbers located
on the CD.
UPSilon 2000 software supports Windows 2000/2003/XP/Vista/2008/7/8, Linux,
Unix, and MAC. Features include:
Power flow display for monitoring UPS status.
Scheduled system shutdown/restart.
Warning notification via e-mail/pager/broadcast.
Scheduled UPS test.
Password security protection.
Remote monitoring/controlling via TCP/IP or internet.
Safely shut-down multiple systems.
Selectable user interface (background).
UPS parameter setting.
Recorded logs for analysis.

Indication
Description
1 Audible Alarm The audible alarm is enabled. When the UPS is
in back-up mode, press the control button to
mute or un-mute the audible alarm.
2 Input & Output Voltage When UPS is turned on, LCD will show input
and output voltage. Input voltage will blink
continuously in back-up mode.
3 Battery Capacity Indicates the estimated battery capacity. The
accuracy is influenced by UPS operation mode
and load level.
4 Load Level Indicates the current load level percentage
used.
5 Frequency (Hz) In the normal mode, a short touch at the button
will display I/P frequency for 10 seconds.
6 Fault Indicates the unit detects a fault.
